Rally in support of the Unist’ot’en and Gidimt’en camps

With the onset of police raids on the camps, we mark a day of colonial criminality on the part of the provincial and federal governments of British Columbia and Canada. Instead of following the path of true reconciliation through decolonization, these governments are supporting the corporate interests of a resource extraction industry (LNG) that fuels global warming and is being artificially propped up by State subsidies.

We will not remain silent as colonial injustices are enacted at the behest of British Columbia’s New Democratic Party government. Nor will we ignore the complicity of the Federal Liberal Party, which refuses to honour the request of the Wet’suwet’en Hereditary Chiefs to speak Nation-to-Nation, government-to-government.

This is not over. We will rise up in support of the Wet’suwet’en Hereditary Chiefs, Wet’suwet’en Sovereignty, and Wet’suwet’en Resistance until everyone arrested are released without charges, RCMP harassment ends, and respectful talks commence.
