Advisory: Palast, Aljazeera, to Expose New Voter Purge - Georgia Democrats angry purge begun in secret

A special investigation by Greg Palast for Al Jazeera America.

Republican officials in more than 20 states have begun canceling voting rights of 3 million citizens, mostly minorities, accused of voting in two states.

Reporter Greg Palast, who led a team of researchers in year-long investigation for Al Jazeera America, has obtained the first-ever copies of the lists of targeted voters – voters subject to “scrub” from voter rolls.

The list is heavily over-weighted with Asian-American, African-American and Hispanic voters.

The voter purge could affect tight Senate races in Georgia and North Carolina—and the 2016 Presidential race. Tens of thousands have already lost their right to vote without any proof they have committed this felony crime.

The “scrub” list is deeply flawed. Over one million of the alleged double-voting “matches” have different middle names.

No social security numbers match

Over a million of the alleged double voters did not vote once, let alone twice The top-ranking Democrat in Georgia, Rep Stacey Abrams, House Minority Leader, is livid that she and other officials were kept in the dark about Republican Secretary of State’s purge operations.

America.AlJazeera.com will release Palast’s report, filmed in Georgia and North Carolina, on the web at 5am ET this Wednesday. The Al Jazeera America news network will broadcast a two-part report this Wednesday & Thursday nights at 9pm ET on America Tonight.

Greg Palast was the reporter who, for BBC-TV and The Guardian, broke the story in 2000 of Katherine Harris’ wrongful purge of innocent Black voters as “felons.”
