BCBlackout - Social War Against Industrial Expansion
As our relations to the natural world are further threatened by the on-going process of colonization (now ‘evolved’ into capitalism) we refuse to be civilized any further. We are not interested in dialogue with the state; we know what we need to do to bring this machine down.
We are an informal group of Anarchists who identify with insurrectional subsistence. Eco War is Class War. Our self motivated practice and theory of insurrectional subsistence is relevant to weaving the currents between the eco war and the class war.
The struggle to protect the land is one with the struggle to free ourselves from wage slavery and the state. We recognize no distinction between the two. We are land defenders and social rebels at the same time.
We plan to find one another, and to breathe together.
This site is for all the fierce hearted comrades and land defenders, in colonial ‘BC’ and beyond. Together, we will bring this system down.
We stole the name for this project from a couple comrades of ours who came from the Yippy era and have contributed much to anarchy in Vancouver over the years. The original publication entitled ‘BC BLACKOUT’ was meant to bring to light anarchist and radical activity that was hapenning and wasn’t in the mainstream papers. Likewise, our work illuminates blacked out (or smeared) events as well, however our use of this title was meant more to emphasize our vision towards the blackout of the industrial system as we shut down the bosses profit driven economy, take back our lives and regenerate the land. It’s coincidental that we recently discovered a deep connection with both of these comrades shortly after we had started the group with their title.
With our efforts we are continuing the trajectories ignitited by comrades in the early 70’s at a time when anarchy was far less popular than it is today
