Rally to save China Creek Watershed and McLaughlin Ridge

PORT ALBERNI – In response to extensive clearcut logging in local old-growth forests by Island Timberlands Ltd., citizens from across the Alberni Valley and beyond will hold a rally outside Port Alberni City Hall tomorrow, August 7th.Alberni Valley residents, First Nations members and environmentalists are deeply concerned about the destruction of ancient forests on McLaughlin Ridge, and the subsequent impacts to drinking water and endangered species.
