The Spill Next Time: Dale R Lindsey Prepares for Maiden Inside Passage Voyage

The Spill Next Time: Dale R Lindsey Prepares for Maiden Inside Passage Voyage

Ingmar Lee - 10,000 Ton Tanker

October 30, 2016

After two days anchored off Kits Point, English Bay, the American Articulated Tug/Barge unit, "Dale R. Lindsey" is currently loading an estimated 2,000,000 gallons of petroleum product at the Burnaby Chevron refinery.

Having loaded, at 23:30 tonight, it is scheduled to commence its winding journey north to Alaska, traversing the entire BC Inside Passage.

As we continue dealing with the horrific aftermath of wreck of the "Nathan E Stewart," its sistership will plow right by.

What has become absolutely clear to anyone actually involved, there is NO "WORLD CLASS" spill clean-up service at all that can actually deal with even a comparatively minor spill.

Clearly, the twisted Public Relations propaganda scam that Big Oil-owned "Western Canada Marine Response Corporation" can fulfill its BC coast-wide monopoly-mandate that requires it to be " capable of responding to a 10,000 ton spill" is an utter, total, completely phony LIE.

Should the "Dale R Lindsey" - the vessel that replaces the "Nathan E Stewart" run up on the rocks and begin spewing its 2 million gallon cargo into the sea, everybody now knows beyond a shadow of a doubt, that nothing, nothing at all can be done but to watch, and weep...

A Canadian Pilot is scheduled to be aboard the "Dale R Lindsey" to help it get through Port Metro Vancouver tonight, but will then depart the ship at English Bay.
