INDIGENOUS LEADERS, ENVIRONMENTAL ACTIVISTS TO PROTEST PIPELINE OUTSIDE FEDERAL CABINET MEETING

NANAIMO - Indigenous leaders, environmental activists and citizens will hold a loud demonstration outside today’s federal cabinet meeting in Nanaimo to highlight opposition to Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s intended buyout of the Trans Mountain pipeline project.
Members of the Tsleil-Waututh Nation, Will George and Reuben George, will attend and lead the protest. Local Member of Parliament Sheila Malcolmson is also scheduled to speak.
The protest is being organized by the Wilderness Committee, Rise and Resist, Protect the Inlet, Coast Protectors, Stand and Sierra Club BC, on the territory of the Snuneymuwx Nation.
