In Memory of Shawna Green, Wild Salmon Warrior
by WildCoast.ca and Forest Action Network
December 3, 2018
Today we honour Shawna Green, taken from us by cancer in late November. Shawna is one of the indigenous women who occupied fish farms on the Central Coast.
With heavy hearts, the wild salmon people are carrying on, and so are we.
For over a year, indigenous grandmothers, chiefs, young people, and allies peacefully occupied fish farms in the Broughton Archipelago to document the damage they cause to wild species.
We support and honour the warriors, now and always.

Shawna Green of Fish Farms Out Now Gets Real with Site C Summit Jan. 26, 2018
by Chris Cook
I was down at the Site C Summit the other day, and was fortunate enough to catch Shawna Green get real with the crowd.
This brave and dedicated woman stopped them in their tracks with a cri de coeur, imploring we “incredible people” forget letters to MLA’s and good manners, and employ direct action to stop the fish farms, and other outrages imposed by the “gross society” we have saddled ourselves with – for now.
Listen. Hear.
